Where it began

Before Adamo Robotics, there was Future Sense S.L. — a company created to develop robotic solutions for physiotherapy. After more than five years of research, validated by the University of Oviedo, the University of Alcalá and the La Rioja Biomedical Research Center (CIBIR), the first Adamo robot was born in 2021.

It combined a UR collaborative arm, a FLIR thermal camera and a jet of pressurized air to treat musculoskeletal disorders — without ever touching the patient. That same year, despite the pandemic, it completed CIBIR's clinical trials and became the world's first collaborative physiotherapist robot — later CE-marked as a Class IIa medical device and deployed across five continents.

The name Adamo is inspired by Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam" — we built Adamo in the image and likeness of the physiotherapist.
