Introduction

Physiotherapy is the treatment of disease, injury or deformity by physical methods — massage, heat treatment and exercise — rather than by drugs or surgery. For decades, electrotherapy devices, mobilization supports and diagnostic tools have grown alongside our understanding of physiotherapy's effectiveness.

ADAMO provides the physiotherapist with assistance in diagnosis and treatment that is an excellent support for improving musculoskeletal pathologies. These contributions have great potential from a diagnostic and therapeutic point of view.

Diagnostic — thermography

A thermographic camera provides cheap, harmless, immediate and objective information. Thermal images help functional cognitive therapies better understand injury mechanisms.

Therapeutic — pressurized air

A jet of air at the correct temperature imitates myofascial trigger-point techniques, increasing subdermal blood flow and oxygenation — without contact.

Thermography in clinical diagnosis

The diagnostic phase focuses on providing information to facilitate a primary diagnosis, as well as a support tool for monitoring a pathology. Thermography has become a hot topic in recent years precisely because it is cheap, harmless and immediately objective.

Asymmetric temperature differences between body sides — typically between 0.3 and 0.6 °C — can indicate inflammation or dysfunction, helping the therapist target treatment and track progress over time.

Two ways to read the body

Static and dynamic thermographic diagnosis.

Static thermography

Under controlled conditions, it reveals thermal dysmetria — useful for inflammation or radiculopathy, where the affected area's temperature drops.

Dynamic monitoring

Tracking thermal evolution session after session lets the therapist adapt treatment objectively as the pathology responds.

Heat or cool on demand

Uniquely, Adamo can both warm and cool the treatment area — extending the therapeutic options of a single device.
